權威

只有當命令發出者擁有發布命令的權力時，該命令才具有效力。權威是指在組織內做出決策、分配資源和指導他人行動的合法權力。

權力源自於正式職位、專業知識或下屬的認可。層級圖描繪了職位權力，但實際影響力往往與圖表上的方框和線條有所出入。那些僅憑職級而缺乏能力或公正性的管理者很快就會發現其正式權力的限制。

明確的授權能加快決策速度；模糊的授權則會導致延誤和衝突。組織會定期調整報告關係，以契合策略，並確保決策權與有效行使決策權所需的資訊保持緊密聯繫。
