🔄 Flipped Classroom

A model where students study content at home and practice in class.

Flipped Classroom

In a flipped classroom, students study new content at home and practice it in class. The lecture moves online. Class time goes to discussion, problem-solving, and hands-on work. The teacher becomes a guide rather than a presenter.

The model depends on preparation. If students do not watch the video or read the chapter, class time falls flat. Teachers often add short quizzes or reflection questions to check that students did the work. The videos themselves are usually short, five to ten minutes, focused on one concept.

Flipping works best in subjects where practice matters: math, science, languages. It frees class time for the hard part, which is applying knowledge. It also lets students pause, rewind, and review explanations they missed the first time. Critics note that it assumes reliable internet and a quiet place to study at home.
