🤵 Account Executive

The agency role responsible for managing client relationships and projects.

Account Executive

The account executive is the person the client calls first. Agencies put this role between the client and the creative team, and it carries a strange double duty: keep the client happy, keep the work on schedule, and keep the agency profitable. Not always in that order.

Day to day, an AE runs status meetings, writes contact reports, chases approvals, and translates vague client comments into something a designer can actually use. When a client says the logo should feel more premium, the AE is the one who has to ask what that means before the team burns a week on guesses.

Core responsibilities

Good AEs know when to push back. Saying yes to every request sounds agreeable, but it wrecks schedules and morale. The best ones protect the work while keeping the relationship intact.
