Brand

Customers recognize a logo, a color scheme, or even a particular tone of voice and immediately associate it with a set of expectations. That recognizable identity is a brand. It distinguishes one seller’s goods from another’s.

A brand lives in packaging, advertising, store design, and customer service. Strong brands command loyalty and often support premium pricing. Building one takes consistent delivery of promised quality over time. Damage to reputation can erode brand value quickly.

Retailers may sell national brands, develop their own private-label brands, or both. Brand equity shows up in repeat purchases and willingness to recommend. In a crowded market the brand is often the primary reason a customer chooses one product or store over another.
