🚚 Less Than Truckload

Shipping smaller quantities that do not fill a truck.

Less Than Truckload

Not every shipment fills a trailer. Less-than-truckload shipping consolidates multiple shippers’ freight onto shared trailers, with carriers handling sorting and transfers through a network of terminals.

Shippers pay primarily by weight and freight class rather than for an entire vehicle. Transit times are longer than full truckload because of terminal handling and multi-stop routes. Damage and delay risk rises with each rehandle.

LTL networks provide affordable capacity for mid-sized shipments that are too large for parcel but too small for dedicated trucks. Accurate classification, packaging, and documentation keep costs predictable. For many regional distribution patterns, LTL remains the workhorse mode.
