Dominance in a kink sense is the accepted role of directing a scene or a dynamic. The dominant partner gives structure, tasks, restraint, or sensation that both people agreed to. Authority here is borrowed, not stolen. It lasts as long as the submissive partner keeps lending it.

Good dominance looks like attention. You watch breathing. You remember the bad shoulder. You stop when the word is said, including when the word arrives as a hand tap because the mouth is busy. Theater without that attention is just being inconsiderate with props.
