Sex therapy is counseling focused on sexual problems: pain, desire gaps, trauma aftermath, function, and the fights that grow around all of that. A trained therapist talks. They do not demonstrate sex in the room. Homework might include structured touch that takes orgasm off the table for a while so panic can stand down.
Look for actual credentials and for someone who will not sell you a single ideology as the cure. Medical issues should be ruled out or treated alongside the talk. Pills cannot apologize. Apologies cannot fix a drug side effect.
Couples often arrive late, after years of silence. Individual therapy still helps when only one person will walk through the door. Progress looks like more honest sentences and less dread, not like a guarantee of cinematic weekends.
