Bondage is the consensual restraint of a body with rope, cuffs, straps, or furniture. The restriction can be decorative, immobilizing, or just enough to remind someone they agreed to be still. Sensation changes when you cannot adjust your own limbs. That change is the draw.
Circulation and nerve paths do not care about aesthetics. Hands that tingle, go pale, or lose strength need release now. Rope at the joints, at the neck, or around the kidneys is how amateurs get a hospital story. Scissors that can cut the tie belong within reach, not in another room.
Talk first about positions that are already uncomfortable in ordinary life: bad shoulders, panic in tight spaces, asthma. A beautiful harness that sits on a nerve is still a bad harness. Time-box the first scenes. Pride is not a safeword.
Floor rules
- Never leave a bound person alone.
- Keep necks free of load-bearing ties unless you have specific training, and even then treat it as high risk.
- Check color and warmth of fingers and toes.
- Practice cuffs before you practice knots.
