Monotheism is the belief in one God. The word comes from the Greek monos, meaning one, and theos, meaning god. It is the belief that there is only one God. He is the creator. He is the sustainer. He is the ruler. He is the judge. He is the savior. He is the lord. He is the king. He is the father. He is the son. He is the spirit. He is the trinity. He is the one. He is the only. He is the God. He is monotheism.
Monotheism is central to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Judaism confesses the Shema. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Christianity confesses the Trinity. One God in three persons. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Islam confesses the Shahada. There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet. The three religions are called Abrahamic. They trace their faith to Abraham. They worship the God of Abraham. They believe in one God. They are monotheistic. They are monotheism.
