🏭 Warehouse

A large building for storing goods before distribution.

Warehouse

Products need a place to wait between steps. A warehouse is a building designed for the storage of goods before they are distributed to retailers, other facilities, or end customers.

Layouts typically include receiving docks, storage areas, picking zones, packing stations, and shipping docks. Racking systems, material-handling equipment, and warehouse software determine how densily and how quickly goods can be processed. Some warehouses specialize in bulk storage; others focus on high-velocity order fulfillment.

Location decisions balance land cost, labor availability, and proximity to transport networks and demand. Safety, security, and inventory accuracy are daily operational priorities. The warehouse remains the physical hub around which many logistics networks are built.
