Puberty is the stretch when a child’s body grows adult sexual characteristics and becomes capable of reproduction. Voices drop. Breasts bud. Hair appears. Periods and ejaculation arrive on their own schedules. Mood and sleep often take a hit while the brain remodeling runs in the background.
Sexual feelings can start here. So can confusion and comparison. Education that is factual and calm beats silence and beats scare stories. Bodies also need privacy and protection. Adult sexual attention toward pubescent minors is not a sexuality topic to normalize; it is a harm to stop.
Timing varies. Early or very delayed puberty can have medical causes worth a visit. Most of what looks uneven is still ordinary.
Adults who remember their own puberty as a fog should not expect teenagers to be eloquent about it on demand.
