夜間に陸から海に向かって吹く沿岸風。

夜になると、陸地は隣接する海よりも早く冷える。陸地の冷たく密度の高い空気は海に向かって流れ始め、陸風が発生する。この風は通常、日中の海風よりも弱く、浅いことが多い。

循環は、上空で海から陸に向かって戻る気流によって完成する。陸風は、気温差が最も大きい、晴れて穏やかな天候時に最も顕著に現れる。陸風は汚染物質や煙を沖合に運び、暖かい海域でにわか雨を引き起こすこともある。

沿岸住民や船乗りは、夕方になると陸風から海風へと変化することを認識している。風の強さやタイミングは季節や地域の地形によって異なる。熱帯地域では、陸風がより大規模な風と相互作用し、夜間の対流に影響を与えることがある。

Living on the coast I notice this almost every evening. The wind shifts direction right around sunset, like clockwork.

Does the size of the landmass affect how strong the land breeze is? Like would a small island have a weaker one?

We learned about this in middle school earth science and I still think about it when I'm at the beach at night.
