A grinder is for friction, not insertion. It may be a contoured pad, a wearable mound that sits in underwear, or a handheld lump with a sweet spot in the middle. People press and rock. The clitoris, a packer, or the shaft of a penis can all be the contact point.
Texture does the work: a raised ridge, a silky dome, a subtle valley that keeps you from sliding off. Some grinders hide a bullet. Others are silent silicone, which is useful when vibration would be too much or too loud.
Because there is no shaft to aim, grinders show up in contexts where penetration is off the table: certain kinds of pain, certain dysphoria, a quick pass in a bathroom. Wash them like any external toy. If the piece is worn in underwear, sweat is part of the cleaning problem.
Choosing one
- A broader pad suits a wide grinding motion.
- A small peaked pad suits precise clitoral pressure.
- Look for a harness loop if you want it to stay put.
- Avoid porous foam that cannot be sanitized.
