Carpentry is the trade of cutting and joining wood to build structures. It is one of the oldest trades. Carpenters build houses, furniture, cabinets, and decks. They frame walls, install doors, and hang drywall. They work with wood, but also with metal, plastic, and composites. The carpenter is the builder. The carpenter is the same.

Carpentry comes in several forms. Rough carpentry frames the structure. Finish carpentry installs the trim and the cabinets. Cabinetmaking builds furniture. Framing builds the skeleton. Trimwork installs the details. Each has its own tools. Each has its own skills. The carpenter chooses the trade. The trade is the carpenter. The carpenter is the same.

Carpentry requires precision. The carpenter measures twice and cuts once. The carpenter uses a square, a level, a tape, and a saw. The carpenter joins wood with nails, screws, and joints. The carpenter sands and finishes. The carpenter builds. The carpenter is the same. The same is the wood. The wood is the carpenter. The carpenter is the wood. The carpenter is the same. The same is the craft. The craft is the carpentry. The carpentry is the same.
