Waterproof vibrators are sealed so they can go in a shower or bath without dying. Ratings matter. IPX7 means a short dunk. A vague “splashproof” on the box means you should keep the faucet aimed elsewhere. Charge ports are the usual leak. Magnetic contacts beat open USB holes.
Water thins most lubes. In a shower you may need more lube than on a bed, or a formula that is rated wet. Dropping a slippery wand onto porcelain is how waterproof toys meet their real test. A lanyard or a soap dish with a lip helps.
After the shower, dry the toy and the contacts. Sealed does not mean happy to sit wet in a towel. If water pearls behind a clear window in the housing, the seal has failed and the toy should not go back in the tub.
Wet use
- Check the rating, not the lifestyle photo.
- Do not charge a wet toy.
- Bath oils can wreck silicone; rinse.
- A quiet motor is harder to find than a waterproof shell, if shared walls matter.
