TPE, thermoplastic elastomer, is the squishy material behind many realistic sleeves and budget dildos. It dents like skin and picks up odor and lint like a magnet. That trade is the whole story of TPE in this market.
It is porous. You cannot boil it into being silicone. A condom over a TPE dildo is the practical way to share or to switch between anal and vaginal use. After a session, wash with mild soap, rinse well, dry fully, powder with cornstarch or the supplied dust so the surface does not stay tacky.
Heat warps TPE. A windowsill will slump a packer. Oils and silicone lubricants can break the surface down. If the toy weeps oily plasticizer onto a shelf, it is degrading. That is the end of its honest life.
Ownership
- Expect to replace TPE more often than silicone.
- Store cool, dark, and dry.
- Keep it away from other toys that can stain or stick.
- Do not sand the surface smooth; you will open more pores.
