Ring-handle dildos end in a loop instead of a wide disc. You can hook fingers through the ring, clip a strap, or hang the toy to dry. The loop also works as a crude harness connection if it is large and thick enough not to slice into the wearer.

For anal play the ring still has to function as a flare. A thin wire loop is a handle, not a safety base. Look at the outer diameter of the ring, not the romance of the design. If the ring can pass through the sphincter after the shaft, it is the wrong toy for that use.
