The vagina is a muscular canal from the vulva to the cervix. It stretches for sex and for birth and then returns toward its usual rest shape. Walls are ridged. Lubrication arrives from nearby glands and from plasma seeping through the lining during arousal.
It is not a separate organ from the rest of pelvic life. Pelvic-floor tone, estrogen, and scar tissue all change how it feels. Pain with entry is common enough to have names and treatments. Pushing through that pain as a bravery test is a bad plan.
Self-cleaning myths sell a lot of scent products that irritate. Water on the vulva is usually enough. Inside, leave the soap out unless a clinician said otherwise.
If discharge changes and stays changed, get it checked. The internet is a poor microscope.
