Orthodoxy is conformity to established religious doctrine. The word comes from the Greek orthos, meaning right, and doxa, meaning opinion or glory. It means right belief. It means right doctrine. It means right teaching. It means right worship. It means right glory. It means right praise. It means right faith. It means right life. It means right orthodoxy.

Orthodoxy is important in all religions. In Christianity, orthodoxy is defined by the ecumenical creeds. The Apostles' Creed. The Nicene Creed. The Athanasian Creed. The Chalcedonian Definition. These creeds define the faith. They define the Trinity. They define the incarnation. They define the church. They define the sacraments. They define the hope. They define the orthodoxy. In Judaism, orthodoxy is defined by the Torah and the Talmud. In Islam, orthodoxy is defined by the Quran and the Hadith. In Hinduism, orthodoxy is defined by the Vedas and the Upanishads. In Buddhism, orthodoxy is defined by the Tripitaka and the sutras. Every religion has its orthodoxy. Every religion has its heresy. Every religion has its boundary. Every religion has its orthodoxy.

Orthodoxy in Christianity

• Trinity: one God in three persons.
• Incarnation: God became man in Christ.
• Atonement: Christ died for our sins.
• Resurrection: Christ rose from the dead.
• Scripture: the Bible is the word of God.
• Church: the body of Christ.
• Sacraments: baptism and the Lord's Supper.
• Hope: Christ will return.

Orthodoxy is not a prison. It is a home. It is not a burden. It is a gift. It is not a limit. It is a foundation. It is not a cage. It is a framework. It is not a wall. It is a door. It is not a chain. It is a anchor. It is not a weight. It is a wing. It is not a death. It is a life. It is not a law. It is a gospel. It is not a word. It is a person. It is not a doctrine. It is a relationship. It is not a religion. It is a faith. It is not a system. It is a savior. It is not a creed. It is a Christ. It is orthodoxy. It is right belief. It is right doctrine. It is right teaching. It is right worship. It is right glory. It is right praise. It is right faith. It is right life. It is right orthodoxy. It is the faith once delivered to the saints. It is the truth. It is the way. It is the life. It is the orthodoxy. Contend for the faith. Once for all delivered to the saints. That is the call. That is the command. That is the hope. That is the love. That is the orthodoxy.
