Prostate wands are firm, often S-curved rods in steel or rigid silicone. There is no motor in the classic version. You hold the handle and press the inner knob into the prostate with small movements. The weight of steel does part of the work.

Two knobs of different sizes are common, one on each end. That makes the wand two tools if both ends have a safe handle position. Do not insert the wrong end so far that you lose the grip. A true handle or a pronounced loop should always remain outside.

Steel can be warmed in water. It can also be a lot of pressure in a small point. Think massage, not lever. If you want vibration, hold a bullet against the handle; some wands conduct that buzz decently.

Control

• Use two hands at first: one on the handle, one to limit depth.
• Polish nicks in metal mean the wand is done.
• Do not combine with numbness from poppers or ice until you know your pressure.
• Dry steel fully to avoid spotting that later feels rough.
