Borosilicate glass dildos are rigid, slick, and honest about their shape. They warm in a bowl of water or chill in the fridge (not the freezer, which risks thermal shock). Ridges and spirals that would flop in soft silicone become distinct under glass.
Annealed borosilicate is the same family of glass used in labware. It can take a drop onto a rug and survive. Tile and porcelain are less forgiving. Inspect for chips before every use. A tiny flake at the tip is enough to retire the piece.
Lube beads on glass and lasts. Cleanup is easy: soap, water, and optionally a boil if there is no glued-on decoration. Some pretty gilded toys are display pieces. If metal leaf or glue is on the insertable surface, keep that one on the shelf.
Handling
- Do not use glass for heavy impact play.
- A flared base or a defined handle is required for anal play.
- Change temperature gradually.
- Store so pieces cannot knock each other in a drawer.
